Installation of automatic irrigation system
Area layout
Make a layout in accordance with the scheme that you have developed. Check the ticks next to the place of sprinkles installation, paint or pull the string along the future trench where the pipe will be installed. Check the scheme to avoid a mistake.
Before trenches perforation check all the schemes of communications, such as underground cables (for automatic gates, intercom, bell, garden lighting, fountain, pump), label them to prevent damage during excavation.
Connecting to the water main or pump
• Turn off the total water supply.
• Drain the water from the system through a water meter.
• Connect the tee in the place where you will connect the automatic watering system.
• After the tee install the overlapping tap.
• Connect the draining tap.
Trenches making
If you already have a lawn, you will need to remove the greensward. To do this, put the film along the trench, and collect the excavated soil on tne one hand, and the greensward on the other. The depth of the trench should be 35-40 cm. When you use mechanical trencher round the flower beds and strong slopes. Do not forget to check all the communications before using mechanical trencher. Align the bottom of the trench and removed the sharp objects (stones, debris, etc.) to avoid damage of pipes and cables. Cover the place of valve box installation with fine gravel.
Perforation under the obstacle
In order to make the perforation under the obstacle make a hole in both sides of the obstacle. Attach a piece of rigid pipe to the hose and connecting the water, push the pipe under the obstacle. This operation is carried out, if you do not want to break a garden track. It is possible to make a sap.
Connecting to the water main
Connect the main pipe of your irrigation system (pipe running from the general water supply pipe or a pump to the valves). Do not forget to install a check valve to avoid a hydroblow.
Installation of valve boxes
To have access to the valves, install special boxes. Valve box lid should be laid out at the ground level. Valve boxes are available in different sizes for one, two, four valves, etc. Typically, group valves together in order not to throw it about. Installation example is in the picture.
Zone building
Installation of the pipeline are best performed using compression fittings. The polyethylene pipeline suites better. Pipes and Fittings of polyethylene used in water supply systems for industrial pipelines and watering systems. These pipes are widely used for its properties: high strength and chemical resistance, light weight, no corrosion, simplicity and speed of installation, long service life. Tubes are equipped with compression-type fittings, which allows to install systems quickly, reliably and without any additional equipment.
Operating temperature range: from -50 ° C to +60 ° C
Operating pressure: 4-20 bar.
Main advantages:
life of 50 years;
resistance to a corrosive environment;
simple and quick installation;
small weight in relation to traditional materials;
corrosion free, which is especially important for pipelines, built into the ground;
the freezing of water in the polyethylene pipes does not broke the system down due to elasticity;
opportunity to work in a temperature range from -50 ° C to +60 ° C.
Pipes are supplied in coil lengths of 100 and 200 m in diameter from 20 to 110 m.
All plastic components are manufactured from materials suitable for drinking water transporting and meet international standards. Compression crimping fittings are widely used during installation, because of simplicity. You don’t need to carry an welding machine, multimeter extension, everything happens fast and simply. The design of fitting includes all fastened parts inside the cap-nut and ensures complete safety and at the same time significantly reduces installation time.
Principle of operation of mechanical and hydraulic systems

Fitting installation moment

Hydraulic and hermetic system tightened with cap-nut

Work under pressure (the pressure trying to wrest the pipe from the fitting, but the mechanism of attachment does not allow to do it)
Starting from the valve, which is responsible for the zone management, install the pipe to each sprinkler in accordance to the scheme. Sprinklers should be marked with ticks. Connect the sprinkler to the pipe through a flexible tube. Open the valve after installation in order to rinse it.
Note: Do not fill up the trench, before you check tightness of connections.
Installing the controller
• Install the controller in the place that has been chosen.
• Install control wires for each valve from the trench to the controller.
• Wires should be isolated and put in the corrugated pipe.
• Connect them.
• Each valve has two wires. Connect one of them to a common wire (for ease of identification it is better to use colored one, e.g. white) and the second to the managed wire. Weld the connections to prevent oxidation.
• Common wire in controller is connected to a common terminal. Connect control cables to the management modules.
Note: All contacts of electrical circuits must be isolated.
Tips for operating
For proper operation of the automatic watering system follow the some tips which are listed below. Make watering early in the morning (before sunrise) when water pressure is the best, and the evaporation of water is minimal, so the plants receive a quality watering. No watering in the evening. After the dew and irrigation, overabundance of moisture can cause the rotting of the plants root system. Avoid a watering in a bright sun, because the water will evaporate before the grass absorbs it. Reduce watering time in shady areas. Lawn should be watered more frequently than shrubs and trees. Controllers can customize the program for the irrigation of these plants separately. Plan irrigation depending on soil type. If you have sandy soil, a watering can be done once a day, but longer. Clay passes the water slowly and watering should be shorter, but more often. In the winter period it is necessary to preserve the system of automatic irrigation. To do this, cut off the main line valve. If the system is equipped with a drain valve pour water over them. After that purge the system with compressed air.
